Terms of use for Ghotok Bari matrimonial services

1. Eligibility

• You must be legally eligible to marry under the laws of your country (for example, over the minimum marriageable age and of sound mind).
• You confirm that you are registering for yourself or with full permission of the person whose biodata is being created (for example, by a parent or guardian).
• You agree that you are not using the platform for dating, casual relationships, fraud, harassment or any illegal purpose.

2. Account, profile & content

• You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and securing access to your account.
• You must provide accurate, truthful and up‑to‑date information in your biodata, including your age, marital status, education, profession and family details.
• You must not impersonate another person or create fake profiles.
• You are solely responsible for any information, photos, documents or links (including social media URLs) that you submit to the platform.
• We reserve the right to remove or edit content, or suspend accounts, that violate these terms or applicable law.

3. Visibility of biodata, email and phone number

Ghotok Bari is designed to protect your privacy while still allowing genuine users to connect. The visibility of your biodata and contact details works as follows:

• Public visitors (not logged in) can only see limited, high‑level information such as anonymised biodata previews. They cannot see full biodata details.
• Logged‑in users can view full biodata details, but without seeing your email address or mobile number.
• Subscribed (paid) members may be allowed to see your email address as part of their subscription benefits, subject to our current plan rules.
• Mobile number visibility: your mobile number is shown only when a logged‑in user sends you an interest request and you accept that request. Until you accept, your phone number remains hidden.
• These rules apply in both directions: you will also only see another member's email and phone according to your subscription status and whether your interest has been accepted.

Note: Exact features may differ by subscription plan. Any changes will be clearly communicated inside the app or on the pricing page.

4. Communication, interests & behaviour

• You agree to communicate with other members respectfully and only for genuine matrimonial purposes.
• You must not abuse, threaten, harass, bully, pressure for money or otherwise harm any member.
• You should independently verify any information shared by other members before making important life decisions (such as marriage, financial commitments, etc.).
• Ghotok Bari does not guarantee the behaviour, background, identity or intentions of any member. We are an introduction platform only.

5. Subscription, payments & refunds

• Some advanced features (for example, viewing email addresses, extended search filters or increased interest limits) may be available only to subscribed members.
• Subscription pricing, duration and included features will be shown clearly before you pay.
• Unless otherwise required by applicable law, subscription fees are generally non‑refundable once the service period has started.
• Misuse of the platform may result in suspension or termination of your account without refund.

6. Prohibited activities

You agree not to engage in any of the following on Ghotok Bari:

• Creating fake profiles or misrepresenting your identity or marital status.
• Sharing obscene, hateful, illegal, infringing or abusive content.
• Contacting members for business marketing, spam, scams or financial fraud.
• Scraping, copying or redistributing other users' data without permission.
• Attempting to hack, disrupt or reverse‑engineer the platform.

7. Our rights & limitation of liability

• We may modify, suspend or discontinue any part of the service (including features or subscription plans) with reasonable notice where practical.
• While we take reasonable steps to keep the platform secure and reliable, we do not guarantee uninterrupted, error‑free or 100% secure operation.
• To the maximum extent permitted by law, Ghotok Bari is not liable for any loss, damage or disappointment arising from interactions or relationships formed through the platform.
• You agree to use your own judgment, make independent verifications and involve your family/guardians before finalising any marriage decisions.

8. Suspension & termination

• You may delete your biodata or request account deletion at any time from your dashboard or by contacting support.
• We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms, misuse the platform or engage in behaviour that may harm other users or our reputation.
